Deep Cuts: Bluegrass

The Devil Makes ThreeSanta Cruz is kind of a weird place to find a Grade A blue grass styled group of musicians. The Devil Makes Three, who formed there in 2002 is a trio that brings to bear a punk edge to "country" music in an new era that is starving for substance while choking on the past 30 years of musical cliches.

Although primarily categorized as blue grass the band encompasses a blend of blue grass, "old time" music, alt-country, folk, blues, ragtime, and rockabilly.

The Devil Makes Three will be appearing at beautiful The 21st Century Theater in Cincinnati (Oakley) on the 3rd of November and at Radio Radio in downtown Indy (off Prospect St.) on Saturday the 5th.
