Finally, scientific proof that Outernet trolls are no different from their cousins the Internet trolls.
In director André Øvredal's excellent Troll Hunter (2010) a group of very Norwegian film students and one cantankerous troll "expert" set out to capture real-life trolls on camera. The hunt becomes even more bizarre after the group learns the trolls existence has been covered up for years by a government conspiracy.
The film's premise is a "mockumentary" or a faked documentary much like The Blair Witch, District 9, Cloverfield or anything on Fox News. Troll Hunter's premise is easy to get into quickly, with amazing 3d models and animation that brings the special effects to life in the same way that Battle Los Angeles did. A truly remarkable film.
