Deep Cuts From Bloggy's Vault: Blues

John Lee Hooker
On November 3rd 1948, Boogie Chillen was released nationally by Los Angeles based Modern Records as Modern 20-627. John Lee's Boogie Chillen found it's way onto American radio and the Billboard R&B chart in January 1949 where it stayed for 18 weeks. The song, still considered one John Lee's best tracks, peaked at #1 of the same year.

Canned Heat, Led Zepplin, and The White Stripes have all covered this tune by putting their own spin on this blues standard.
