Al Jourgenson's Ministry was an outfit so good that they practically defined their own genre of industrial music. Using cuts from Full Metal Jacket, Chuck Connors out-takes from youth propaganda films, volcanic guitars, driving basslines and wild, distorted vocals that raged against cow-eyed conformity, mindless passivity and vapid consumer culture the band railed against injustice and stream-lined warfare. Ministry was an underground slugfest of a band that regurgitated decades of pop culture back onto itself in a volcanic form of audio purification.Ministry, formed in 1981, officially broke up in 2008 after spending over 25 years of defining industrial music.
