Curt Hennig began wrestling in the WWF in the fall of 1988 as Mr. Perfect - the perfect athlete. As Mr. Perfect, Hennig easily went undefeated for over a year, beating the likes of The Blue Blazer, The Red Rooster, and Jimmy "Super Fly" Snuka with his patented Perfect-Plex. This only added to Hennig's claim of total perfection. This record came to a stupifying end when Mr. Perfect began feuding with Hulk Hogan over the WWF Championship in late 1989. Hennig and Hogan would be two of the last three men left in the 1990 Royal Rumble. Hogan got the the victory over Mr. Perfect but The Million Dollar Man ultimately won Royal Rumble. Hogan and Mr Perfect would feud up to 2003.

Mr. Perfect was twice the WWF Intercontinental Champion beginning in 1990 and one of the greatest bad guys in the WWF second only to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper or Bobby The Brain Heenan. Hennig, due to his amazing intellect and superior insight into profesional wrestling, also acted as a referee and commentator.

Tragically, on February 10th 2003, Hennig was found in a Florida hotel room of an apparent drug overdose. He was only 44 years old. Curt Hennig was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31th 2007. His wife, four children, and parents proudly accepted the award on his behalf.
