The Chills were a very influential alt-rock band formed in New Zealand in the 1980's. Their sound is a mix of proto-punk garage and psychedelic rhythms which is still performed today in the Dunedin college area. They are one of the few bands, if not only band, from New Zealand to gain worldwide notoriety due to their originality, intricate arrangements and performances.
